the controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) as well as other data protection regulations for our website and the associated data processing.

This privacy policy meets the legal requirements for transparency in the processing of personal data. This is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes, for example, information such as your name, age, address, telephone number, date of birth, e-mail address, IP address or user behavior when visiting a website. Information for which we cannot (or only with disproportionate effort) establish a connection to your person, e.g. through anonymization, is not personal data. The processing of personal data (e.g. the collection, retrieval, use, storage or transmission) always requires a legal basis and a defined purpose.

Stored personal data will be deleted as soon as the purpose of the processing has been achieved and there are no legitimate reasons for further storage of the data. We will inform you about the specific storage periods or criteria for storage in the individual processing operations. Irrespective of this, we store your personal data in individual cases for the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims and in the event of statutory retention obligations.

We only pass on your personal data that we process on our website to third parties if this is necessary for the fulfillment of certain purposes, or in individual cases if there is a legal basis (e.g. consent or protection of legitimate interests). In addition, we disclose personal data to third parties in individual cases if this serves the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims. Possible recipients may then be, for example, law enforcement authorities, lawyers, auditors, courts, etc.

Insofar as we use service providers for the operation of our website who process personal data on our behalf as part of order processing in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR, they may be recipients of your personal data.

What rights do I have?

Under the conditions of the statutory provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), you have the following rights as a data subject:

  • Information in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR, § 34 BDSG about the data stored about you in the form of meaningful information on the details of the processing as well as a copy of your data;
  • Correction in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR of incorrect or incomplete data stored by us;
  • erasure pursuant to Art. 17 GDPR of the data stored by us, unless the processing is necessary for exercising the right of freedom of expression and information, for compliance with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims
  • restriction of processing pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR if the accuracy of the data is contested, the processing is unlawful, we no longer need the data and you oppose the erasure of the data because you need it for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims or you have objected to processing pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR
  • Data portability pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR, insofar as you have provided us with personal data on the basis of consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR or on the basis of a contract pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR and these have been processed by us using automated procedures. You will receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or we will transmit the data directly to another controller if this is technically feasible.
  • Objection pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR to the processing of your personal data, insofar as this is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e, f GDPR and there are reasons for this arising from your particular situation or the objection is directed against direct advertising. The right to object does not exist if overriding, compelling legitimate grounds for the processing can be demonstrated or the processing is for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims. If the right to object does not exist for individual processing operations, this is indicated there.
  • Revocation pursuant to Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR of your given consent with effect for the future.
  • Complaint pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR to a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the GDPR. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence, your workplace or our company headquarters.

How is my data processed in detail?

Below we inform you about the individual processing operations, the scope and purpose of the data processing, the legal basis, the obligation to provide your data and the respective storage period. There is no automated decision-making in individual cases, including profiling.

Provision of the website

Description and scope of data processing:

Each time our website is accessed, our system, i.e. the web server, automatically collects information from the system of the accessing computer or end device of the user.

We collect the following data:

  • Information about the browser type and version used
  • The operating system of the user's end device
  • The user's internet service provider
  • The IP address of the user
  • Date and time of access
  • The previous website from which the user accessed our website

Legal basis for data processing:

The legal basis for the temporary storage of this data and the log files is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR (legitimate interests of us as the responsible website operator)

Purpose of data processing:

The temporary storage of the user's IP address by our system is necessary to enable delivery of the website to the user's computer. For this purpose, the user's IP address must necessarily remain stored for the duration of the session.

The above-mentioned data is stored in the log files in order to ensure the functionality of our website. We also use this data to optimize the website and to ensure the security of our information technology systems (e.g. to detect attacks). The data is not analyzed for marketing purposes in this context.

Duration of storage:

The above-mentioned data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. In the case of the collection of data for the provision of the website, this is the case when the respective session has ended.

If the data is stored in log files, this is the case after 90 days at the latest. Data may be stored for longer than this. In this case, the user's IP address is deleted or anonymized by us so that it is no longer possible to identify the accessing client and the data contained can no longer be linked to a specific person.

Form for requesting an application for admission, form for contacting our facilities and employees and form for submitting applications

Description and scope of data processing:

We may be contacted via our forms for requesting an application for admission, for contacting our facilities and employees and for submitting applications. In this case, the sender's personal data will be stored. In some cases, we use external service providers such as d.vinci HR-Systems GmbH to process your data. These have been carefully selected, contractually bound and commissioned by us and are bound by our instructions.

Legal basis for data processing:

The legal basis for the processing of this data, which is transmitted in the course of sending an inquiry, is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR (legitimate interests of us as the controller)

If your request, for example via our application submission form, is aimed at the conclusion of a contract, the additional legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR (fulfillment of a contract, pre-contractual measures)

Purpose of the data processing:

The processing of this personal data serves us to process the contact and to prepare a requested offer or order.

Duration of storage:

The above-mentioned data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required to achieve the purpose for which it was collected.

For personal data sent by email, the contact form or the inquiry form, this is the case when the respective conversation with the user has ended. The conversation is ended when it can be inferred from the circumstances that the matter in question has been conclusively clarified.

Possibility of objection:

The user has the option to object to data processing at any time. The objection must be addressed to the appointed data protection officer. All personal data stored in the course of making contact will be deleted in this case.

Presence on social media platforms

We maintain so-called fan pages or accounts or channels on social networks in order to provide you with information and offers within social networks and to offer you further ways to contact us and find out about our offers. To avoid automatic data transfers to the social media providers, these offers are integrated on the Rahn Education website via an external internet link. For data protection reasons, active social media plugins are not used on Rahn Education websites, with the exception of YouTube.

In the following, we will inform you about which data we or the respective social network process from you in connection with the access and use of our fan pages/accounts.

Data that we process from you:
If you wish to contact us via Messenger or via Direct Message via the respective social network, we generally process your user name, which you use to contact us, and may store other data provided by you insofar as this is necessary to process/respond to your request.

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 f) GDPR (processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the controller).

(Static) usage data that we receive from the social networks:
We receive automatically provided statistics regarding our accounts via Insights functionalities. When you visit our Facebook page, Facebook collects, among other things, your IP address and other information that is stored on your device in the form of cookies. The statistics include the total number of page views, likes, information on page activity and post interactions, reach, video views/views and information on the proportion of men/women among our fans/followers.

The provider also processes user data using cookies for market research and advertising purposes. This data can be used to tailor content or advertising to you. Information on how you can manage or delete existing information about you can be found on the following support pages:

Meta (Facebook, Instagram) Cookie Policy: https://privacycenter.instagram.com/policies/cookies/

The statistics only contain aggregated data that cannot be related to individual persons. They are not identifiable to us, i.e. the data of the respective user on which the analyses are based are not transmitted to us.

What data the social networks process from you:
In order to view the content of our fan pages or accounts, you do not have to be a member of the respective social network and in this respect no user account is required for the respective social network.

Please note, however, that the social networks also collect and store data from website visitors without a user account (e.g. technical data in order to be able to display the website to you) and use cookies and similar technologies when the respective social network is accessed, over which we have no influence whatsoever. Details on this can be found in the privacy policy of the respective social network:

We have no influence on the data processing by the social networks when you use them. To the best of our knowledge, your data is stored and processed in particular in connection with the provision of the services of the respective social network, as well as for the analysis of user behavior (using cookies, pixels/web beacons and similar technologies) on the basis of which advertising based on your interests is displayed both within and outside the respective social network. It cannot be ruled out that your data will also be stored by the social networks outside the EU/EEA and passed on to third parties. We would like to point out that you use the service offered here and its functionalities on your own responsibility.

Matomo (formerly Piwik)

This website uses the open source web analysis service Matomo. Matomo uses technologies that enable the cross-page recognition of the user to analyze user behavior (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Matomo about the use of this website is stored on our server. The IP address is anonymized before storage.
With the help of Matomo, we are able to collect and analyze data about the use of our website by website visitors. This allows us to find out, among other things, when which pages were accessed and from which region. We also record various log files (e.g. IP address, referrer, browser and operating system used) and can measure whether our website visitors perform certain actions (e.g. clicks, purchases).

The use of this analysis tool is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the anonymized analysis of user behavior in order to optimize both its website and its advertising. If a corresponding consent has been requested (e.g. consent to the storage of cookies), the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR; the consent can be revoked at any time.

We use IP anonymization for the analysis with Matomo. This means that your IP address is shortened before the analysis so that it can no longer be clearly assigned to you.
We have configured Matomo so that it does not store any cookies in your browser.
We host Matomo exclusively on our own servers so that all analysis data remains with us and is not passed on.

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymization is activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services relating to website activity and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link (http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en).

We would like to point out that on this website Google Analytics has been extended by the code “gat._anonymizeIp();” in order to ensure an anonymized collection of IP addresses (so-called IP masking).

You can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will then be set to prevent further collection of your data when you visit this website. This procedure is particularly recommended when accessing our website via mobile devices.

Google Ads

The website operator uses Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising program of Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Furthermore, targeted advertisements can be displayed based on the user data available at Google (e.g. location data and interests) (target group targeting). As the website operator, we can evaluate this data quantitatively by analyzing, for example, which search terms led to the display of our advertisements and how many advertisements led to corresponding clicks.

The use of this service is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 TDDDG. Consent can be revoked at any time.
