Admission of your child
Dear parents,
If you are interested in enrolling at our school, you will find the most important information and admission criteria here. The dates for the coming school year can be found on our primary school overview page. It is important to us that parents and children are familiar with our educational work. Therefore, please inform yourself on our homepage and visit us at the parents' information evening or arrange a personal appointment.
For which children is our school suitable?
We are open to all children of primary school age, regardless of their religious, social or regional background. We are happy to accept children with special needs, depending on capacity. We are happy to accept children from multilingual families. In order to be accepted, children must be interested in our school concept and our school-specific pedagogical and organisational framework. This means being involved in the classroom community in both structured and more open forms of learning and teaching, the willingness and ability to abide by the rules of living and learning together and the physical, emotional, cognitive and social maturity to cope with a school day with an extended curriculum. Joint concerts, performances and interdisciplinary projects are an integral part of everyday school life.
What are the admission criteria for our school?
The basic prerequisite for a successful educational partnership is acceptance of our educational concept with its musical-artistic focus and in-depth language programme. It is important to us that our educational concept is suitable for your child. We attach great importance to social-emotional development, a willingness to abide by the rules of the school community, a keen interest in learning and enjoyment of musical and artistic activities and learning English.
How does our admission procedure work?
We require a completed application for admission by 30 September of the previous year of enrolment. Please enclose a photo of your child and a family photo.
Enrolment with us does not release you from the obligation to enrol at a state school.
This is possible online via the service portal Schule des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt.
Please send us a copy of the examination results immediately after the state school entrance examination. The school fitness test is a binding prerequisite for enrolment at our school.
Our familiarisation days take place in October/November. You will receive an invitation for your child in good time. In a separate event, we will then inform you as parents about all further steps of the admission procedure at our independent primary school.
Requirements for early school enrolment
Children who reach the age of five by 30th June can be admitted to school at the beginning of the school year at the request of their legal guardians if they have the physical and mental requirements necessary for school attendance and are sufficiently developed in their social behaviour. These children are required to attend school upon admission. An official medical examination must be carried out before admission to the school.
Prerequisites for deferral
Children of compulsory school age who are not sufficiently developed physically, mentally, emotionally or in their social behaviour to participate in lessons with the prospect of success will receive appropriate support at the primary school or special school. In individual cases, admission to the school can be postponed by the school authorities by one year in agreement with the legal guardians. These children are required to attend school upon admission.
