[Translate to English:] Lana LiQingyuan - Report on her experience

I came to Neuzelle in the summer of 2018. I couldn't speak German yet. My first year in Neuzelle was at the language school, where I learnt German. When I was at the language school, I went to school every day from 8.25 am to 2.15 pm. At the language school I learnt colloquial language but also technical language such as maths or physics. I passed A1, A2 and B2 exams, but I took B2 twice and finally passed. Then, after an interview with the headmistress, I was allowed to go into year 10.

In summer 2019, I was in class 10a. At first, my classmates weren't so keen, but after two weeks they were so nice that when I had problems in German, they would help me too. For me, maths, English and physics were not that difficult. German, history, PB and geography were too difficult for me because they are so hard to understand, so it is very important to improve our German. In the first two months I could only understand about 50%, but after that I could understand 80%.
On the whole, I think we should always be diligent and always ask questions if we don't know something. It is not easy to always get a good grade, but if we work hard, we can always realise our dreams.

And this is what her teacher, Ralf Krüger, reports

Lana has been in class 10a at the grammar school since August 2019. Lana quickly found her feet in her new class and was able to make friends straight away. She is ambitious and always finds solutions to the challenges she faces at school. What is particularly remarkable is that Lana has developed her German language skills so well that she can follow lessons for native speakers without any problems. Here she doesn't even have to shy away from comparison with German pupils and achieves good results.

She also gets on well in Neuzelle outside of school. During our excursions, for example, she has already learnt how to ice skate and has been able to use it skilfully.
